How to Connect Any Printer to WiFi — Universal Guide

This guide covers WiFi setup for all printer brands. Find your brand below for specific steps, or follow the universal method.
Universal WiFi Setup (Works for Most Printers)
- Turn on your printer and make sure it's in setup mode
- On the printer's screen, navigate to Settings or Network
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard or WiFi Setup
- Select your WiFi network from the list
- Enter your WiFi password
- Wait for the connection — the wireless light should turn solid
- On your computer: Settings → Printers → Add Printer
HP Printers
- • Easiest method: Download HP Smart app → Add Printer → follow the wizard
- • Touchscreen: Wireless icon → Wireless Setup Wizard → select network → enter password
- • WPS: Press WPS on printer → press WPS on router within 2 minutes

Canon Printers
- • Download Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app (mobile) or Canon IJ Setup (PC)
- • On printer: Press and hold WiFi button until the light flashes
- • The app will detect the printer in setup mode and guide you through WiFi connection
- • For PIXMA with touchscreen: Menu → LAN Settings → Wireless LAN Setup
Epson Printers
- • Download Epson Smart Panel app or Epson Connect
- • On printer: Home → WiFi Setup → WiFi Setup Wizard
- • Select your network → enter password → wait for confirmation
- • For EcoTank models: Press the WiFi button for 3 seconds to start setup mode
Brother Printers
- • Download Brother Mobile Connect app
- • On printer: Menu → Network → WLAN → Setup Wizard
- • Select your network → enter password
- • The WiFi indicator on the printer will turn solid when connected
Common WiFi Issues (All Brands)
- • Printer not found: Make sure printer and device are on the same WiFi band (use 2.4GHz, not 5GHz)
- • Wrong password: WiFi passwords are case-sensitive — double check caps lock
- • Keeps disconnecting: Assign a static IP to your printer in router settings
- • Slow printing: Move printer closer to router, or consider a WiFi extender
